Petrified forest Portland for Sunday Best

There is something alive behind these fossils. At close distance, there is something else in them.

  1. Incredible! I have never seen fossilized trees like this before, only as logs on their side. This was in the Petrified Forest National Park in northeastern Arizona many years ago. How I would enjoy seeing yours. Great shot!

  2. A beauty, in addition to having a refined technique in photography, the best thing is your artistic vision.

  3. What is in them? Are they maybe the dens of small animals?

  6. That's something I've never seen and it looks amazing. Millions of years old I suppose.

  7. I didn't know we had petrified forests in Australia. What might have caused them?

  8. At first I thought this was an abstract painting, but then I saw the plants growing there.

  12. A very interesting picture. The only petrified forest I have seen so far was in Namibia: https://rostrose.blogspot.com/2017/02/namibia-teil-9-der-versteinerte-wald.html

All the best and have a nice Sunday, Traude

  17. A wonderful image, which looks surreal and alien. And yet, there are so many places on our earth that appear so incredibly phantasmagorical. Thanks for taking part in the "My Sunday Best" meme.
