Old Melbourne Gaol - Interior

It rains a lot whenever it is a weekend in Melbourne. Originally, I was going to do some urban exploration in Geelong. Then the plan switched to this simple visit to the old goal.

Sorry Stefan. This is a weird lens fetish I have for ultra-wide angle lens :)

  1. Wide angle lenses offer interesting results, but surely, unless I am misunderstanding, you mean gaol and not goal. Perhaps it autocorrected because I am not sure it likes that spelling. Sorry if I am off the mark.

    1. Laowa 9mm f5.6 is a manual focus lens. I set aperture at f8 all time to keep things in focus

    1. Thank you, Pat. It is hard to capture that sentiment without a wide-angle lens there

  8. I have never seen anything like this! What is it? It looks like something from Mad Max, or steampunk. What an awesome photo you have taken!! Like an entire other world.

  9. 19th century prisons were particularly brutal. Your photo reminds us of life back then :(

  11. I would NOT want to be locked up there! It's kind of creepy and scary. I like the angle -- it adds to the creepiness of the environment!

  12. Part of the ceiling looks like a spider web. Wonder if it was on purpose. How creepy, on purpose (by the builders). Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
