Bronze Pig statue and sign in Segovia for Tom's Sign2

It is so good to revisit old photos looking for interesting signs that I would never have thought of posting. This was one of the famous bronze pig statues in Segovia Spain.

The town is renowned for a chef that roasted the best suckling pig in Spain chef competition of some sort.

  1. I saw a lot of pigs used as signs in Italy. This one looks quite at home there.

    1. Thank you, Eileen. The heat is getting to me here. Work has been stressful

  3. The cook was called Cándido, he was famous for cutting roast suckling pigs with plates instead of knives. The restaurant, which is called Cándido, continues with his children, it is next to the famous aqueduct.
    I was eating there, delicious

  4. Not a very accurate statue of a pig, but I like it anyway.

  5. Maybe the porker is a distant relative to Adelaide's Rundle Mall pigs.

    Saludos.
