Foraging in the bush, Emerald

The sheer joy of getting a macro shot in focus. I am using an old sigma macro lens from 30 years ago. There is no digital coating on the lens. So flare sensitivity is clear. I don't like flashes in macro so this was taken at high ISO. A lot of noise. Well, whatever. It was a nice walk in the wet forest.

    1. Tom, I was once a gear fan. So, I would not want to meet myself from these years. A lot of keyboard warriors I used to enjoy arguing with on photography fora turned out to be mediocre photo takers. I do not see the point arguing with these people anymore. Life is too short

  3. I'd rather have a bit of noise that I can deal with than funky lighting. This is a great shot!.

    1. Thanks Bill. What is tricky is Sony CMOS sensor has a colour profile which does not do well with blue hue. Sometimes a neon type colour comes through in the shadow areas. It is problematic.

  4. Lovely macro shot and noise only add atmosphere to a photo like grain in the older days.

    1. Thanks for the compliment. I like a particular type of film grains which are not often appreciated on the blogsphere. So, I don't share that type of images anymore. Good to know I am not alone!

    1. What happened that macro lens is no longer a popular choice? I ditched the macro lens and kept this antique lens from the dinosaur era lol
