Balnarring Beach long exposure Cape Schanck for Water H2O Thursday

At Balnarring, the retreating tide leaves behind a quiet world of shimmering textures. With a long exposure, the sea softens into a silky veil, its gentle movement rendered in muted shades of pale brown and warm yellow, glowing beneath the subdued coastal light. Across the exposed sea floor, tubular seaweed lies scattered among the shallows, catching the light like delicate strands of old gold.

For a brief moment, the restless ocean seems almost still—a translucent wash of colour and motion, revealing a hidden landscape that disappears again when the tide returns.

  3. Un buen contraste entre el turquesa del mar y el rojo de las algas marinas. Con el añadido del efecto seda.

  6. Low tide is a special time when all that life just under the water is exposed to be seen and appreciated. I like seeing your long exposure photos of the ocean.

  7. You're lucky to have the ocean nearby, Roentare. As lovely as my mountains are, I miss being near the ocean.

  8. That's one of the things that make where we live special-- 70 miles puts us at a magnificent shoreline, inside the famous Columbia River Gorge, or seeing the best of the mountains. And we have our favorite forest and wetlands walks just about 7 miles away. I'm glad you have your shoreline images!
