By night, the amusement park sheds its daytime cheer and reveals something more fragile—paint dulled, metal worn, lights flickering with a hint of fatigue. What seems shabby in stillness transforms the moment the shutter lingers. Rides once creaking into motion dissolve into ribbons of light, their spinning arcs tracing luminous circles against the dark. In that suspended stretch of time, decay softens, and motion becomes poetry—each trail a fleeting signature of joy, ghostlike yet vivid, written across the night.

Birrarung Marr Carnival for Melbourne Street Signs

 

My recent photo series included many candid shots, with various signs appearing in the frames. It was an enjoyable challenge to limit myself to just a 35mm f/1.4 lens. Despite the constraints, it required creative thinking to capture unique moments.

On Christmas Day, Joel and I are planning to visit an inland area to fly our drone, after enjoying some festive feasting with family, of course. I've noticed that there aren't many photography lenses on sale this year, so it's probably wise to save the money for next year.

Melbourne Night at Birrarung Marr

 

Just too many people in the city. After that long gig 2 nights ago, I am binge watching Lord of the Rings on Netflix instead. Such a tragic story to watch.

Another El Nina gonna hit Australia and this will be the third one in the past 10 months. This means the continuous wet weather will make my regular photo walk a bit more challenging to do so in the coming months.

When I took this shot, I kind of hope no one was going to rob me from behind...
