Fungus wonder in Lake Sanitarium for Sunday Best

After a fortnight of steady work free from on-call duties, I find that my sleep pattern is at last restored. I have also resumed the habit of reading the news and attending to various hobbies. Advancing age has made me realise that I can no longer endure the unrelenting burden of round-the-clock shifts.

This particular mushroom is frequently found at Lake Sanitarium, Mount Macedon. The gentle rear green bokeh it affords is a quality I hold in highest esteem—though, amusingly, it is the very aspect that Joel most dislikes.

  1. It seems very difficult to me to have such an on-call duty. I understand that you don't really want to do that anymore. It's probably not healthy. May I ask how old you are?

  2. I actually like the background better than the mushroom! I hope there is a way you can avoid these exhausting shifts?

    1. Every now and then, I feel safer to top up the bank account. Or contract work really varies

  3. Bokeh adds charm and magic to photographs, though it's not always to be welcomed. It depends on the subject, I suppose.

  6. Me parece, que te debes de dejar llevar por tu criterio, a la hora de hacer las fotos.
A mí me gusta la toma tal como la has hecho.

  8. Mushrooms are the fruiting bodies of Mycelium that grows underground, and it is a fascinating life form. I wish I knew more about them,

Yes with age, and you realize it, so that's a good thing.

  12. I only have to look out my kitchen window to see a photogenic mushroom. But it is a bit bigger than this one, nice macro.

  13. Por aquí en el otoño es la temporada fuerte de hongos pero este año con el verano tan seco creo que no se verán muchos.
A mi me parece una foto magistral en la que destaca ese pequeño hongo, que creo es lo que intestaste mostrarnos.

    Saludos.

  14. Lovely shot, James. I hope you're feeling better soon. Old age is inevitable, a youthful attitude is a must for survival. Thank you for taking part in the "My Sunday Best" meme.
