Adnate, a well-known Australian street artist celebrated for his large-scale portraiture.
Adnate, whose real name is Matt Last, hails from Melbourne and has gained international recognition for his powerful and emotive murals that often portray Indigenous Australians, elders, and youth with dignity and strength. His work typically blends realism with street art techniques, using spray paint to capture striking expressions and profound cultural narratives.
In this image, Adnate's signature style is clear—deeply human faces with intense, expressive eyes, rendered with photorealistic detail against a more abstract or symbolic background. The mural’s subjects—likely community members or individuals of personal or cultural significance—are depicted with great reverence, a hallmark of Adnate's work.
You can find his other murals in cities around the world, but many of his most iconic pieces are right in Melbourne, on the walls of buildings just like this one, often contributing to broader dialogues about identity, history, and resilience.

A truly amazing 👏 night 🌙 ❤️ shot.
ReplyDeleteAn art in the jungle
DeleteStreet art is usually best seen during the day. So how is this mural illuminated?
ReplyDeleteI think there are lights that illuminate this mural at night
DeleteThis one is sadly beautiful. The woman looks like she is afraid or very worried.
ReplyDeleteThe Covid time mural
Delete...neat, I've never photographed a mural at night!
ReplyDeleteIf the lighting is sufficient
DeleteYou must post pretty high res bc that mural looks very clear when I zoom. I don’t post high res on Blogger. I think they were fussy about that at one time, so I got in the habit of keeping image size pretty moderate.
ReplyDeleteThis is resized to moderate size as well. My camera uses high resolution sensor.
DeleteImpresionantes rascaciones tiene de fondo ese buen mural.
ReplyDeleteIt was put up during covid
DeleteI google Adnate! What a remarkable artist. Thanks for sharing, Roentare!
ReplyDeleteThat is a fine looking mural in a very urban setting. Good night photo.

DeleteThat mural looks amazing!!
ReplyDeleteGreat night shot :-D
ReplyDeleteSi de realizada la foto durante la noche y oblicua, me imagino que de haber sido de frente como luciría el mural.
ReplyDeleteSaludos.
I was on the way to a dinner.
