Bridgewater Bay Blairgowrie for Skywatch Friday

Winter sunsets often display warmer and more vivid hues than those of summer. This is partly due to the sun being farther from the Earth during the winter months. I find particular enjoyment in photographing sunsets during this season, as Joel and I are then able to visit the local fish and chip shop afterwards, with the sun setting conveniently around five o'clock.

  1. The sun on the rocks is gorgeous!!! Nature's art at it's best. And lovely shades of blue and pale aqua.

    1. Due to high dynamic range of the scene, the photo is actually overexposed by a few stops

  4. The distance may have a little bit of an effect I guess but not much from what I understand.

    1. Not much hiking is involved. Just walk down the stairs and snap

    1. It was an unusual moment actually. Normally I don't get that sort of light there

  7. You must thank the fish and chip shop for arranging the early sun set :) The weather has been cold but the colours make freezing your bodies worthwhile.

  11. Sometimes I see photos that make me wonder whether they depict sunrise or sunset. But not in this photo. And I understand the fish and chips story very well.

  20. Oh lovely ! The misty surface of bay and sunrays falling on rocks by the bay is creating magic in photograph. Thanks for sharing with Garden Affair.
