Adelaide Central Market Mural for Mural Monday

Some discoveries ask for no fanfare. Hidden away on the second floor, where the car park quietly gives way to the atrium of Adelaide Central Market, this mural waits beyond the paths most visitors follow. It is easy to walk past without ever knowing it exists.

Perhaps that is part of its charm. Unburdened by crowds or the clamour of the market below, it feels intimate and uncontrived, as though it was created for those willing to wander rather than those searching for landmarks. The artwork brings warmth and character to an otherwise ordinary transition space, transforming bare concrete into something quietly uplifting. Its originality lies not only in its design but also in its setting—a reminder that beauty often chooses the most unexpected corners, rewarding curiosity with moments of quiet delight.

  1. Quietly uplifting only works if a person sees the mural. Ditto intimacy.

  3. This style is so unlike any of the other murals you have posted. Sort of painted in an old fashioned traditional way. In a way, it kind of reminds me of the artist Norman Rockwell. It also makes me want to go there!

  6. That's very good, and I would elevate it from a mural to a large painting.
