The beauty of Childer's Cove is shadowed by its heartbreaking history. It's a poignant reminder that even the most serene places can hold tragic stories.
What an awesome scene but the massacre is horrible. I visited you via Comedy Plus Wordless Wednesday 334 I linked up this week with = 45+46. This is a personal invite to come and join us at #WordlessWednesday #Photography Wednesday - Saturday. https://esmesalon.com/tag/wordlesswednesday/
Beautiful shot! I was not aware of the massacre, just the wreck of the barque named "Children". The wreck is bad enough! (see: https://www.environment.gov.au/shipwreck/public/wreck/wreck.do?key=6059). Thanks for taking part in the "My Sunday Best" meme.
I've visited a lot of battlefields over the years and, no matter how beautiful and peaceful they look now, there's always a feeling in the air - and I'm sure there was one here, also. How sad this history is for a place so beautiful.
Pretty place, but "Oh my!"
ReplyDeleteSometimes it is best not to know its history
DeleteAnother great beach scene, love the rocky cliffs too. Take care, have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThank you Eileen and you too!
Delete...sad!
ReplyDeleteThe history is not easy to listen to
DeleteUn colorido lugar pero a la vez terrorífico.
ReplyDeleteI saw a rip in the waters
DeleteUn bello lugar con una trágica historia a sus espalda.
ReplyDeleteSaludos.
That a beautiful scene but how awful about the children.
ReplyDeleteThat part of our state is unknown to me, so I had to Guggle Mepunga.
ReplyDeleteI well understand your discomfort.
ReplyDeleteSoftly pretty to look at till one learns of the history associated with the place.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, dear me that is dreadful. Nice capture.
ReplyDeleteStrange looking formations! Good catch!
ReplyDeleteHorrors.

A horrible memory.
ReplyDeleteProbably a horrible feeling -- but a beautiful image of the cliffs.
ReplyDeleteMe parece muy triste. Besos.
ReplyDeleteI would love to be on a boat taking in that view. Beautiful.
