Fitzroy street murals Melbourne for Mural Monday

Though somewhat daunting to behold, these nevertheless offer a faithful representation of the area. I am presently in the Sydney Central Business District, where the conference has coincided with the Vivid Sydney light festival. I expect to remain out for the greater part of each evening. It has been almost impossible to make booking of the hotels.

Linking Mural Monday

I am currently watching a new Australian drama on Netflix entitled Survivors. It is truly a pleasure to hear the familiar Australian accent and behold the well-known landscapes. One cannot help but feel there ought to be more locally produced programmes of this kind. Joel has suggested that I subscribe to Stan, which, he assures me, offers a wide array of Australian series, including those in the Walking undead series. He appears to advocate for nearly every available pay television platform.

  1. I love street art, because it tells a story of the area and the people. These are pretty amazing.

  2. All of those murals are strikingly powerful, but each of them has suffered graffiti scribbling, and that shows disrespect for the real artists. Let's hope you can find a hotel.

    2. Like Taken for Granted, I loathe the rubbishy graffiti added to the murals and trying to ruin them. It takes muralists many hours to work on their amazing project and it takes morons 5 mins to ruin it.

  3. What an interesting experience! It sounds fascinating to be in the heart of Sydney, especially during such a spectacular event like Vivid Sydney. I can imagine the atmosphere is truly special, even if organizing everything was a challenge. Thank you for sharing! The murals are very intriguing, and your photos perfectly capture their scale! Congratulations!

  4. Not the "pleasant and easy to understand" kind of murals, but intriguing!

  5. The one with the bleeding heart is rather frightening. Some of the others look kind of tribal, also gang related. Thei is an incredibly abstract fish for sure.

  10. Too bad about the mess around some of the murals but they are still very beautiful and colorful on their own.
